Los Altos is a charming city 40 miles south of San Francisco and neighboring Palo Alto.  While getting its start with the railroad expansion in the early 1900’s, Los Altos initially grew with agriculture and flourished as tech became the prominent industry in Silicon Valley.  It is conveniently located to Stanford Hospital and El Camino Hospital as well as major tech employers. Los Altos has a vibrant downtown and in many respects life involves a lot of community events.  COVID has impacted some, but historically, such events are the summer concert series, the art and wine festival and the Festival of Lights Parade which is so well attended that it’s a good idea to scout out your seats in the morning!  There is also a great farmer’s market that runs May-September on Thursday afternoons in downtown. The city has many wonderful neighborhoods, each with it’s own special quality.  Homes feed into either Los Altos, Mountain View or Cupertino schools so it’s important to know which neighborhood is best suited to your lifestyle and investment goals.
